Minister with Youth and Families
Summary
The Minister with Youth and their Families is responsible for the implementation of all Central Youth Ministries objectives, values, and programs, with general oversight of 7–12 ministry areas. These responsibilities include building relationships with students and their families; supervision of adult leaders; and oversight of all related programming.
All employees and volunteers are expected to reflect Central UMC’s core values and actively participate in the life of Central.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in developing staff, volunteers, and programs
- Facilitate teamwork among staff, volunteers, and parents
- Participate in NextGen Co-Op for vision and leadership
- Manage social media and weekly communications
- Meet with advisory council for planning and growth
- Oversee all program development and implementation
- Plan and lead youth programs and events
- Lead retreats and special events
- Build relationships with students and families
- Train and supervise volunteers
- Recruit and equip volunteer leaders
- Maintain Safe Gatherings compliance
- Coordinate publicity and communications
- Manage ministry budget
- Attend leadership meetings
- Perform additional duties as needed
Supervisory Responsibilities
Provides supervision and leadership to interns, parents, and volunteers.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required. Christian Education or related field preferred. Minimum four years of student ministry experience required.

Pastors Assistant / Office Coordinator
Summary
The Pastor’s Executive Assistant / Office Coordinator provides administrative support to the Pastors while helping ensure the church office operates smoothly and hospitably. This role manages scheduling, communication, and ministry coordination while also developing and organizing volunteers to assist with office functions such as phones, hospitality, and general support.
This position plays an important role in helping the church extend hospitality and maintain effective communication with the congregation and community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the pastor’s calendar including meetings, ministry events, and preparation time
- Assist with preparing documents, correspondence, and materials for meetings, worship planning, and ministry initiatives
- Coordinate scheduling between the pastor, church staff, and community partners
- Coordinate flower ordering and funeral orders of worship
- Track follow-up items from meetings and ministry conversations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Volunteer Coordination
- Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers to assist with office functions
- Coordinate volunteers for answering phones, greeting guests, and light office tasks
- Provide administrative assistance during busy ministry seasons
- Create a rotating volunteer schedule (Monday–Friday, 12:30 p.m.–4:30 p.m.)
- Maintain communication with volunteers and ensure they feel supported and appreciated
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position provides direction, support, and supervision to volunteers, interns, and other staff when applicable.
Education and Experience
A bachelor’s degree is recommended. A minimum of four years’ experience working with ministry groups in either a lay or paid staff capacity is required.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to move between various environments including homes, church facilities, hospitals, and businesses. Must have excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written. Must be able to operate a computer and standard office equipment, clearly hear and understand telephone conversations, and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Work Environment
The employee will work in both office and external environments. Noise levels are typically moderate but may occasionally be loud. A valid driver’s license is required for travel between church functions and events. Exposure to weather conditions may occur during mission trips and outings.

Food Service Assistant
Summary
As Food Service Assistant, this position is responsible for assisting in the preparation and serving of food for CUMC’s events and for daily meals and snacks for Central Children's Academy. This position is also responsible for assisting in cleaning of the kitchen and cooking equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Organize and order juice and milk for Central Children’s Academy with vendor twice a week or as directed
- Assist in training and authorizing users of kitchen equipment as needed
- Work closely with volunteers of the Community Meals ministry in preparing and serving meals on Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Cross-train with Director of Food Service to fill in as needed
- Assist in cooking and cleaning for scheduled CUMC and CCA events and activities
Supervisory Responsibilities
May occasionally provide leadership to volunteers of Community Meals and other groups using the kitchen. Otherwise, this position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required. General cooking and cleaning skills required. Serve Safe Certification required. Experience with industrial kitchen equipment preferred.

Ability to read and interpret safety rules, instructions, and regulations. Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, and vendors.
Physical Demands
Requires standing, walking, lifting, and use of hands. Must regularly lift up to 25 pounds and frequently up to 50 pounds with assistance.
Work Environment
Moderate noise level, occasionally loud. Exposure to varying weather conditions when traveling between buildings.
