Minister with Youth and Families
Summary
The Minister with Youth and their Families is responsible for the implementation of all Central Youth Ministries objectives, values, and programs, with general oversight of 7–12 ministry areas. These responsibilities include building relationships with students and their families; supervision of adult leaders; and oversight of all related programming.
All employees and volunteers are expected to reflect Central UMC’s core values and actively participate in the life of Central.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in developing staff, volunteers, and programs
- Facilitate teamwork among staff, volunteers, and parents
- Participate in NextGen Co-Op for vision and leadership
- Manage social media and weekly communications
- Meet with advisory council for planning and growth
- Oversee all program development and implementation
- Plan and lead youth programs and events
- Lead retreats and special events
- Build relationships with students and families
- Train and supervise volunteers
- Recruit and equip volunteer leaders
- Maintain Safe Gatherings compliance
- Coordinate publicity and communications
- Manage ministry budget
- Attend leadership meetings
- Perform additional duties as needed
Supervisory Responsibilities
Provides supervision and leadership to interns, parents, and volunteers.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required. Christian Education or related field preferred. Minimum four years of student ministry experience required.
Skills and Abilities

- Strong communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills
- Ability to plan and evaluate programs
- Ability to build and lead teams
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Strong organizational skills

Technology Requirements
- Experience with standard office technology
- Familiarity with A/V and worship tech
Physical Demands
Must be able to move between environments, operate office equipment, communicate effectively, and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Work Environment
Work occurs in office and offsite environments. Requires a driver’s license and travel. May include varying noise levels and weather exposure.

Minister with Kids and Families (K-4 & 5-6)
Summary
The Minister with Kids and Their Families (K-4/5&6) is responsible for the implementation of all Central Kids K-4 / Mid Youth objectives, values, and programs, with oversight of a comprehensive discipleship program for children from kindergarten through 6th grade.
This role works under church leadership to fulfill the mission of Central UMC. All employees and volunteers are expected to reflect the church’s core values and actively participate in church life.

- Facilitate teamwork among staff, volunteers, and parents

- Lead special events including VBS
- Build relationships with families and leaders
- Train and supervise volunteers

- Perform additional duties as needed
